Another integral component of race relations is to be aware that good-looking people are treated better. This is part of ‘unconscience bias’ I talked about earlier. ‘Most people’ believe that better packaging automatically means better content.
My goal is to correct this error in logic and for people to understand their own biases. 1).
Correction of Logic:
- Better Packaging does not = Better Content
Good-looking individuals are perceived by their bosses to be better at what they do than they actually are. There’s a good chance that the thought that they are being biased won’t even pass their minds. The gender or sexual orientation of the boss or the employee doesn’t matter. The simple fact is people like good looking people and things.
